WELCOME! A SlackBuild script is nothing more than a list of commands structured in such a way as to end up with a binary Slackware-based package that can be installed via pkgtool, installpkg or upgradepkg. All commands are standard Linux commands such as make, gcc and cat. This is almost exactly like building the packages from source by hand, EXCEPT that it's all automated and repeatable. A NOTE: Due to the greatly increased number of contributions I have recently restuctured SlackBuild Central. The start page was really starting to get too long. These are the new categories: generic.builder/ -- Generic build scripts that are known to work with _most_ Slackware and Slackware-based distributions. Some tweaks may be necessary to individual scripts, depending on which distribution you're building the packages on. The "filesize" utility (found in this directory) may be needed for these scripts, depending on the distribution you build them on. slack.8.1.builder/ -- Build scripts specific to Slackware 8.1. Many thanks go to Bruno Henrique Collovini for creating and contributing this series. slack.9.0.builder/ -- Alak Trakru's first collection of scripts for Slackware 9.0. slack.9.1.builder/ -- The most recent addition until 12/12/04. A huge "thank you" to Alak Trakru for his work in creating such a large number of SlackBuilds for this Slackware release. Thanks to Fabien Soulier for his cowsay contribution. Another "thank you" goes to Juuso Raitala for a number of recent contributions. slack.10.0.builder/ -- Now the most recent addition. Another "thank you" to Alak Trakru for his work on the latest Slackware release (as of this writing). slackintosh.builder/ -- Gnome packages dedicated to Slackware on the Macintosh. These scripts were provided by Boris Bezlaj. The original ftp site is at ftp://ftp.knjiznica-jesenice.org/pub/slackintosh/source/gnome/ Enjoy!
